Starting Your Morning Mindfully

Have you ever noticed the start of your morning is as impactful as how the rest of your day unfolds? Mindfully beginning your day can prepare you to better approach any challenges the day might bring. Start where you are at by incorporating one, two, a few, or all of these mindful suggestions into your morning routine for a more mindful morning…

  1. Stay off your phone - Avoid interacting with electronics and devices immediately after waking.

  2. Take a few deep breaths- If your mind wanders, simply come back to the next breath. 

  3. Meditation

  4. Journal 

  5. Set some positive affirmations - I will have a great day.

  6. Gratitude - Name one thing that you are grateful for.

  7. Ground yourself- Notice your body and your surroundings.

  8. Set realistic intentions or goals for your day.

  9. Move your body 

  10. Stretch

  11. Incorporate self-care

  12. Schedule your day

  13. Drink water and eat a healthy breakfast

These habits are not created overnight. Give yourself some grace and if you are not perfect, remember this takes time.
