Karen is devoted to helping her clients gain the insight and awareness necessary to begin making positive change, as well as to guiding them as they develop the skills and confidence to create more fulfilling and balanced lives. She utilizes an integrative, systemic approach to therapy, working with clients to find creative solutions to their presenting problems, while uncovering their untapped strengths and resources, making their lives more rewarding.
Karen specializes in working with individuals, couples, adolescents, teenagers, and families who are in distress, or desire personal growth. She believes that a supportive, compassionate therapeutic relationship is the basis for change. Karen creates an individualized and flexible approach based on the needs and goals of her clients. Her areas of expertise include: the treatment of family and relationship issues, parenting, life transitions, adolescent and teen mental health, extramarital affairs, divorce, stress management, anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, grief, and self-esteem issues. In addition to the above listed areas of expertise, Karen is devoted to working with couples throughout all stages of the relationship, such as: pre-marital counseling, reconnecting as a couple, the development of parenting plans for divorcing, and creating and maintaining healthy post-divorce family system.
Karen earned her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from University of Florida, her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University, and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist through the state of Florida. Karen is also a certified Family Court Mediator. She is currently a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
